A night at the Klamath County Fair turned frightening for one local family over the weekend after a group attack broke out near the fairgrounds, according to a post shared on the Klamath Falls Community Page.
The original poster, who goes by NotImpressed68, said she brought her kids to the fair Saturday night once temperatures cooled down. Within an hour, she said three to five people attacked a single person, an incident she said left her children scared and shaken.
She said she watched law enforcement arrive on foot well after dispatch had reportedly indicated officers were responding, and said fair security appeared thin near the ride areas where crowds gather.
Mother of alleged victim speaks out
Facebook user Whitney Marino, who identified herself as the mother of the teen who was attacked, wrote that her son was jumped by a group and that the attack continued even after he began having a seizure.
She said her son does not associate with any group and said this was not the first time something like this has happened locally. She also said no parents nearby stepped in to stop it.
The original poster said she plans to seek a refund or dispute the charge with her bank over the disrupted evening, and called on fairgrounds organizers to improve security staffing.
